ABOUT KEITH MATHESON
In 1977 Keith Matheson the label made its debut as jean makers and operated several trendy retail stores across Australia.
Operating at its peak in the 1980’s and early 1990’s, a popular following saw Kieth Matheson create several collections with subtle acknowledgment towards ecclesiastical style. Heavy black crepe fabrics, stand up collars, cuffs, hidden buttons and full length coats and evening dresses were in; much of which dates back to this very piece.
In 2004 the brand closed its Australian retail outlets to refocus on his New Zealand operations. Alongside Keith’s own label, the then 61-year-old's stores were complemented by a select group of imported product including John Smedley English knitwear, Passarella Death Squad T-shirts and Blumarine and Claudio Ferrici Italian bags. A super cool collection well before its time.
All Matheson products were proudly made in New Zealand.
